I used to work masonry during the summers and holiday breaks (I taught). One xmas eve, we worked half a day. One of the guys hadn't gotten his wife anything yet. He said he would get something after work. Well, a few days later, we were back at it and when asked about his xmas, he said it turned out to be one of his most expensive ever. After work, he went drinking with some of the crew and didn't get to a store in time. So, to appease his heartbroken wife, the day after xmas, she got a new washer and dryer.
