However in the realms of the Sciences such as Physics, etc, things can and do change as further researches and more evidences come to light. However, stating that any person who has absolutes in their mind must, therefore, have joined the ranks of the religious is incorrect since religions cannot any will not change ever. Backyard Swimming Pool Kit" on line and was visibly thrilled with his purchase, as everyone in the neighbourhood was told by him UNTIL it arrived. We were invited to the 'unwrapping', saw this huge bundle, which he careful cut open ONLY to reveal the contents, a retractable tape measure, a Pick, Shovel, a long Crow-bar and 5 pages of instructions, all that for a mere insane price of $1,999 Australian.

Sounds a whole lot like the 'mechanic ???' that recently 'serviced' my Stihl Chainsaw. I took it in for good and thorough CLEAN, before it went in it was working A.O.K., no problems, could cut up to a ton of firewood, hard Aussie Red Gum btw, in about 2-3 hours, the only slight problem it had was that the Chain Oil pump leaked from time to time. When I got it back, after 2 weeks btw, it has a prolonged acceleration 'flat spot' when I press the trigger, a regular mis-fire and a back-fire, it stops and starts with tiresome regularity when being used and all this because he CLAIMED that he over-hauled the whole chainsaw, cleaned and re-set the carburetor plus fitted a NEW Oil pumps as well. I asked him, over the phone, IF he re-tuned my chainsaw when it had had time to warm up or whilst it was still cold. His reply was " I did it while it was still cold because I was due for my lunch break." Shit, any mechanic knows that when you re-tune an internal combustion engine, big or small, it IS customary to allow the engine to reach running temperature first. Thanks to the stars I have the brains to, 1) remember my years of working on 2-stroke motorcycle engines and can undo, hopefully, that idiots screw ups, and, 2) I had the sense to have a spare chainsaw on hand. $176 for him to be paid to 'screw' my chainsaw, I hope he has better ' talents ' when it comes to satisfying his life partner.

I tend to think that the human disgust/prudishness towards nudity stems directly from the bible itself. That being derived from the Book of Genesis where the entirely mythological Adam and Eve suddenly learned and discovered that they were completely naked and hence decided to wear leaves to cover up their 'private parts.' Early humans would have used animal skins as a kind of covering to keep warm in the cold months and climes most likely and probably gone at least naked or partial naked in the warmer months/climes but when Christianity and earlier belief systems began to take hold on societies then came about the necessity for clothing the body. It was not until Europeans invaded ( settled) in Australia, for example, the the Indigenous natives began wearing any types of clothing nor felt shame, etc, in being completely naked except for on and during ceremonial occasions. After all, are we NOT all born completely naked?

Back in the days when religion held 'sway' here in Australia I remember there being what was colloquially known as the "6 o'clock Swill" at hotels where the patrons where required by Law to cease drinking at 6 pm sharp because of a similar reason. Plus ALL Hotels and Clubs where closed tight shut on Sunday mornings everywhere within the town/city limits UNTIL after 1.00pm on Sundays. Many a local family would have the usual 'Sunday Lunch' then get in to the family car and head out for a 'Sunday Drive' to the nearest hotel that was well and truly outside the town/city limits. The kids would get a 'Pub Raspberry' or 'Pub Squash' to drink and a packet of potato chips and the parents would all sit back and enjoy a beer or two. Happily, for now at least, things here have changed for the better and Pubs and Clubs are open on Sundays. There used to be a similar thing with Supermarkets here as well but now that too has gone by the wayside.

Religions REFUSE to be questioned and purport, incorrectly I might add, that they have all the answers which SHOULD NEVER be either doubted or questioned. LOL, love it. Our City Council has a lot of similar signs but they used to use one in particular that read, "End of Work Ahead" until some local wag (comedian) decided to add to it by painting the words " How can it end when Council Workers never seem to actually have started work around here in the first place." He/she may have a bit wordy but 100% correct because our Council has a policy, so it seems, that it takes 3 people to decide IF there hole in the road is actually a hole, one person to spray the perimeter of the offending hole with their 'magic' white paint in the hope that it vanishes and if the 'magic paint' fails to work then it takes a total of approx. 10-15 workers, 4-6 pieces of heavy machinery ( trucks, diggers and road-graders, etc,), 6-12+ weeks to rip up the tarmac, level out the ground surface, replace the tarmac and during all that time the section of street/road is completely closed off to usage. And, btw, I am NOT joking.

Most religions, the 3 main Abrahamic derived ones especially, seek only to teach that Life is something that has to endured until Death comes along and relieves you from its drudgery and takes you the 'After-life' where you will finally gain eternal happiness BUT that is ONLY on the Proviso that YOU believe in their God/s and worship them/him/her/it in both life and the After-Life. Whereas we worship No God/s, we live the life we are born to live we because we know that at some time we will die, cease to exist completely except in those memories we have left in the minds of others and that IS the Be All and End All of it. So, WHY I ask, would we need a 'New Dogma' in the first place when we have had more than enough of the old Religious dogmas force-fed to us before and rejected them?

Sadly, at present ALL we have to battle Covid-19 is Lockdowns, Isolation, etc, etc, just we did hav back in the times of other Epidemics like Measles out-breaks, the Spanish Flu, etc. So, imo, rather than merely going about business as usual we have bear with things as they are UNTIL science, etc, comes up with a more permanent solution. The best we can all do atm is to be patient, observe the rules and TRY to save as many lives as possible.

First off, I'd be washing out the site thoroughly with a saline solution, maybe 15% salt in 85% water water, then applying a Hydrogen peroxide solution ( it will foam up but it removes most debris and bacteria), then apply an antiseptic cream, wrap it in a good crepe bandage and finally head of to the A&E Department to see it may need a suture or 2 to close it up, get a Tetanus boost as well if you've been over 5 years since your last booster shot. After all, that, grab a bottle or 2 of your favourite tipple, sit back and relax as you imbibe enough to ease away the pain.

Sadly and imo Friend, I think you've come up against the age old adage of " You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink," which also translates to " You can lead a Believer to Reason but cannot make him/her think." I've run into similar situations many times in my life, starting with one of my sisters who converted to Catholicism ONLY because, A) she was doing the 'maternal baking bit' ( had a bun in the oven so to speak) and the father of the child would NOT marry her unless she became a Catholic, and, B) the whole marriage went completely 'pear-shaped' within 5 years and they divorced only for her find out that that, under Catholic Canonic Laws, both could never have their divorce recognised by the church. I had many a 'debate' with her over that and religion but she insisted upon cling to Catholicism like a hungry leech even though I sensed she did understand and often comprehend what I was saying. My best advice for you would be try and leave her to her delusions because you will only suffer emotionally otherwise.

I can honestly say that I have helped a few to become 'deconstructed' Believers over the last 20+ years or so. And I'd say that at least 8 out10 of them has found peace, contentment, self-belief, etc, etc, that they never had before. As for myself, I've been an Atheist even before I knew the word, Atheist, existed, i.e. I started questioning everything and anything I could from almost the word go simply because that is how my father brought me up to be.

I still stand by my thoughts, etc, that UNTIL we actually understand the workings, etc, of such viruses such as Covid, we will never be able to meet and fight them on their own grounds. I.e. WE need to 'strip' then down to their very basics of chemical compositions, find their weaknesses and learn to exploit them, vaccines are good BUT find a way to destroy them completely would, imo, be an even better weapon to combat them. As to the 'Isolation' techniques being used, imo, they ARE only as good as the Aseptic Techniques, etc, being utilised. For example, as a nurse I was taught that the correct method of Aseptic care was NOT to go DIRECTLY from patient A to patient B whilst still wearing the same P.P.E. simply because you ARE being the 'transporter' of the infection by doing so. You MUST change the P.P.E. you are wearing EVERY time you move from patient to patient, you MUST re-scrub up BETWEEN patients as well as AFTER attending to ANY patient, that IS basic Aseptic technique at its simplest. We used to watch in almost horror as Doctors, who should know better, would do their 'rounds' going from patient to patient without even bothering to wash their hands, etc, etc, between patients. Imo, some Doctors, even in this day and age, seem to have the ingrained idea that ' No virus, etc, would DARE to even consider living upon their 'sacred' skin, etc, etc. Thankfully I learned that at least a few Oncologists thought and believed differently when my daughter was undergoing Chemotherapy and would re-scrub after each and every patient, etc, etc. Plus, imo, Governments need to STOP screaming about the Economy and recovering it, and just get on with fighting this Pandemic instead BECAUSE what good is a strong economy going to be IF there are very few people left to support it? Every person on Earth is virtually in the 'same boat' at this time and yet we all seem to intent upon rowing in different directions.

I think you'll find that most God-botherers do indeed look after their own kind BUT it comes with a often hefty cost in that they pay their tithes even when they can't really afford them. I once had the luck to over-hear a local Pastor explaining how tithings work. He said, quite openly and candidly, that out of every $500 of tithings he puts aside 10% for the running costs of the Church or whatever building they use for meetings, 40% for assisting his congregation members who may be in need of financial assistance from time time, the remainder goes to cover his expenses like fuel for his OWN vehicle/s, clothing, etc, etc, and what is left over from the average 5-7,000 dollars per Sunday is put into HIS Bank Accounts. So, I wonder just what exactly happens to the 'extra' 50% each week, why does it NOT go to helping the Homeless, the Poor, the Destitute, etc, who are NOT members of his Congregation?
