Voting is NOT mandatory, yet to WIN the election the candidates MUST win 270 or more of the "Electoral College" votes. Why, so it seems and appears, is it that some certain States have more importance in both the 'run-up and the Election Process itself than others? Are these States considered as being LESS important than others? So what are these "electoral Colleges, how are they more important than the Will of the People at large? Why can't the U.s. merely adopt and use a system similar to Australia for example? Here, EVERYONE of Voting age IS required to vote, thus actually GIVING them a say in the result, small as it may be, IT is a say. Here EVERY vote IS counted, be it Pre-Poll, Absentee (i.e.) Voter is OUT of their residential Electorate) or vote registered ON the Polling Day. On Polling day, EVERY Voter MUST be identified and their name, address and CHECKED OFF the Register by Polling Clerks BEFORE Voting Papers can be issued. Nice job there. Try mine, far easier and much much cheaper since I haven't needed a haircut since about March-April 2000. No comb/brush, No Shampoo, just a disposable razor and a full head shave done while in shower. BUT I've been that ever since Lorrae was diagnosed with cancer and the Chemo caused her hair to fall out, temporarily that is. Though it didn't have a chance to re-grow before the cancer returned and I lost her to it in January, 2001. I still shave my head both in her honour and memory and in the honour, memory of ALL other kids who have fought cancers past and present. BTW, the shiny head makes it hard for mosquitoes land on, get a grip and have a wee sup on your blood as well, kind of like trying to land an aircraft on an ice covered runway...LOL.

We've been having numerous similar situations here in Broken Hill ever since that massive Hailstorm a year or so ago. The firms replacing roofs were just tossing old used self-drilling screws anywhere and everywhere, letting them spill from the vehicles all over the roads as they went, each time to the local Rubbish tip. Unfortunately the 'culprits' can never be traced and bought to book so the motorists all had to cop the price/costs for tyre repairs/replacements. I made a 'deal' with one group doing the roof of my friend a few doors away, I 'd supply them with icy cold water and they'd give me ALL the screws they were going to discard, I ended up with a 29 litre bucket filled to the brim with screws that are in perfect condition plus enough sheets of corrugated metal sheeting to replace my tired old sheeting on my fences, all the sheeting was coloured bonded as well.

Offer or show them that you condolences are truly heart-felt first, offer them hugs or your shoulder/s to lean on or cry on whilst you hug them, that you WILL be there for them when and where ever possible, offer to do the Grocery Shopping for them if you can I still remember how, when 10 days after my younger sister and her husband left after we held the Memorial Service here for my 16 year old daughter that I could NOT face even going out to buy fresh bread, milk, etc, etc. I was completely alone, lived on stale bread, toasted, powdered milk well past its use by date, about 1-2 hours of fitful sleep per night IF I was lucky, UNTIL my friends Alan and Meg Waldron knocked on my door, would NOT take no for answer, and asked me to hand over my ATM card and Pin number so THEY could go and get groceries for me. My larders were totally bare btw. 1 hour later they returned, groceries and ATM receipts in hand, made me a meal, sat with me while I ate it, then Meg, being Meg, ORDERED me to take a long shower, I may have whiffed a little btw, change my clothes, get my "bum into gear" and "come for a ride around town" to get me out of my house for a while. From then on Alan, Meg and their daughter, Naomi, have become far more of family to me than my own family ever have been. Sadly, almost 4 years ago, we lost Meg to the cancers she had battling for 20+ years but she left us with a great legacy, her Grandson, my 'adoptive' nephew, Henry, and me with a whole, new, wonderful family. Something I will never forget, be eternally grateful for and will treasure as long as there is breath in my body. So, friend, hang in there, because what you give can so often be returned in Spades.

Well, imo, if people can't be bothered about keeping themselves and others Covid Safe then I agree with him 1,000%. Try to remember that, A) we ARE all in the same boat during these times, B) It only takes 1 SINGLE infected person to infect a minimum of 3 others, those 3 can then go on and infect yet another minimum of 3 people and so then infection rates grow exponentially, so IF you multiply the 3 by 3 you get 9, then you 27 by doing the same with those 9, ergo , you are actually CUBING the infection rate, those 27 infected can easily go on to infect AT LEAST 3 more people EACH making 81 infected people, now multiply that 81 by 3, then the sum total by 3 again, and so on and see what the final total comes out as. That, my friend, IS how epidemics/Pandemics happen and how they spread and spread. Check the actual Death Toll for Victoria and compare it to each other State then work out just how many of your fellow Victorians COULD be added to that Death Toll IF it were not for these restrictions.

Yep, you can trim Coleus back in around autumn -early winter. I tried it last autumn/winter here, but cut them back to about 4-6 inches above soil level, cut the base out a 2 litre clear plastic drink bottle. remove the cap then place the drink bottle over them as a kind of 'glasshouse' effect. If you want your Coleus to grow thicker and bushier rather than becoming 'leggy and straggley' nip out the growing tips when the plants reach about 12-18 inches in height. and try to add some 'natural' fertilizer, either aged chicken manure or aged goat manure, about a half a tea cup per plant about every 3 -4 weeks, they really thrive on 'natural' fertilizer. Watch out for little green/olive coloured caterpillars that attack the leaves, I'm battling those hungry little pests at the moment, if anyone has a non-toxic solution I can use I'd be very grateful to hear it.

Religion dictates how you should believe, family TRIES to dictate how we should see ourselves and who we see ourselves as being. Further little up-date to the "B" ( Belinda) Case. Belinda and 'new' family arrived as expected for our counseling session as scheduled. No, I didn't faint, but what a surprise I got. We've all heard the story of the Ugly Duckling-Swan, well this is more like the enforced caterpillar- brilliant Butterfly transformation. But my shock came when Belinda showed us all some of the elastic type bandages her ex-parents wrapped her in EVERY SINGLE day for the last 1 and a half years in 'efforts' to conceal/hide her developing breasts, etc,. When she demonstrated to us all, using me as a model btw, how tightly they were wound around her and for how long she was literally FORCED to wear them, we all became somewhat outraged at such blatant cruelty and, imo, sadism. Now, thankfully, Belinda wears very nice, feminine clothes, has a very nice hairstyle, just a very small touch of lipstick, etc, BUT, in her words, " Can;t get the knack of walking in women's shoes as yet. The best part,to my mind, was when she stated clearly that she has NOT had ANY nightmares, can breathe properly, behave like herself and IS no longer made to feel like, in her words, " some, dirty, little family secret that needs to be kept hidden away from everyone." The only 'draw-back' was that just when my sore ribs were recovering from being squeezed when the Policewoman hugged me is that Belinda decided I deserved an even bigger hug and boy did she hug me, my ribs are still aching today. Reminds me of when the Rock Opera " Jesus Christ Superstar" hit the movie screen here where I live. I was helping out the Cinema Owner at the time as an usher, on the Opening night there was a dozen Nuns and as many Priests who lined up to buy tickets. Once everyone was seated, the entire cinema was completely packed btw, we started rolling the movie, the crowd was silent as the movie went on, and then suddenly arose the voices shouting " Blasphemy," Sacrilege, " " Satanic Propaganda, " etc, etc, and a line of 'penguins and crows' ( as we Aussies often call Nuns and Priests) started heading towards the doors. The next night there were the 'penguins and crows,' all lined up outside the cinema with their home-made placards protesting and calling for Gawd to smite this House of Satan. J.C.S. was ONLY scheduled to run here for 2 weeks, BUT thanks to the 'pengiuns, etc,' and their protests it ended up running here for 2 months with packed houses EVERY showing. So I hope this Jesus Jockey jerk has the same effect with The Addams Family movie.

I'd have to say that the weirdest place I've found God-mobster propaganda would have to be when once, about 12-18 months I purchased a 6 pack of toilet rolls. They were on special at my local Supermarket, a new brand, claiming extra strength, softness, etc, in a very nice package and at very reasonable price. Mind you, I usually buy toilet rolls at each fortnightly shopping trip anyway just in case another "Dunny Paper Stampede' breaks out and there IS no shortage ever in my house anyway. Anyway, I got home, opened up the pack to find each and every roll had on each sheet, a picture of Jeebus smiling back at me with the words " Jesus Loves you" printed underneath the picture. I wonder just how much Jeebus loved the 'make-overs' he received after every session of my 'contemplations' .........LOL.

In that context then should we all not cease using phrases such as "Bless you" when someone sneezes, etc, etc? There are almost countless phrases in common usage that may/may not also have 'religious' connotations IF one where to actually seek solely to find them. As an Aussie we often get around such 'religiosities' by merely saying things such as " See ya 'round." Catch ya later," " Take it easy," and when someone sneezes I usually use the German saying, "Gesundheit" which simply means "Good Health," another Aussie style greeting when meeting a friend is " How's it hanging, Mate?", to which the usual response is " OH, a bit on the soft side and to the left," though it should only be used when greeting a male friend.
