I used a prong collar with Chief. Dogs necks are tough. If you pinch the skin just above your elbow, that is what a prong collar feels like to a dog. But it gets their attention and gives you more control. I learned most of my dog training online, I was in a forum for golden owners. But today there are great resources online. One I used was clicker training, positive reinforcement training. It takes time and patience, but I never let my dog drag me. He dragged the kids a few times.

Lets tackle the fat shaming first, and I realize English is likely not your first language. Fat is more than just a noun, it is a judgement as well. You seem to have some of that going on, in your profile you wrote "5 feets 7inches, 170 pounds (I am still working on that sorry for the few extra pounds." Are you ashamed of those few extra pounds, and it seems you include others in your condemnation of those extra pounds. The way I see it being overweight is not a moral failing. Food is tied so tightly to survival and pleasure, it is very emotionally charged. The last thing someone struggling with body image and weight is to have shame added to it. I think moral indignation should be saved for rapists and other criminals, not for someone carrying extra pounds. You also wrote in your profile "As any artist I might be a little shallow, a little selfish." Yeah, I kinda see that. Then lets talk about the reasons so many people are overweight. I'm going to stick with the US because that is what I know. Sugar is added to hundreds of foods that should not be sweet. Ketchup, the condiment loved by millions is primarily sugar. Breakfast cereals are loaded with sugar. Sugar is a cheap filler for processing, and the sugar lobby is tight with the government. Fresh vegetables are sadly expensive and grocery stores destroy tons every year because they are not "attractive".The ubiquitous fast food, easier to grab McD's and call it a day rather than cook at home. The issues of diet and weight loss have been around for hundreds of years, and obviously we don't have a handle on it. One of the first dietitian was an English doctor who wrote an essay on dieting in 1724. That is 294 years ago. Almost 300 years of dieting. What we are doing is not working and there are no easy answers. Why do you assume you have the answers for everyone? Judgmental toxic people do not make it easier for those who are struggling. Please rethink your strategy.

@Gooniesnvrdie Actually I started intermittent fasting. I was fasting today from dinner yesterday to dinner today. I have read that intermittent fasting helps your body burn fat stores and increased insulin sensitivity. While fasting today I walked 1.75 miles, and I've been active most of the day as well. My dinner had lots of veggies, and peanuts and flax seeds. And now I feel quite stuffed.

@Gooniesnvrdie I eat "less meat" and almost no dairy. Most of the time I'm vegetarian, though these past two weeks I have been eating out of my normal pattern. I just quit a job and regard myself as "retired" at least for a couple of months. Now that I"m not preparing breakfast and lunch ahead of time, and often eating out more, I don't always make the best choices. I need to find a new routine for quasi retirement. I am pretty sure I will figure it out a method sooner or later.

That cat is not bonded to anyone, but we don't know what had happened to that cat before her husband got it. I have almost always chosen cats that bonded well with me and with others.

In 1993 he went to Korea unaccompanied, the kids and I moved to Belleville, IL The master bedroom was tiny, we had a king size bed. The left side of the bed had to be up against the wall and I started sleeping on the right side, and realized I slept better that way. When the ex got back home I let him know that the change was permanent. I am very right handed, as he is. However I noticed that he slept on approx 1/3 of the left side of the bed, and I slept on 1/3 of the right side, and the middle was no man's land. Before the switch it seemed we always slept towards the middle and usually breathing in each other's faces. After the switch it was all fresh air.

As a mom of daughters I'd tell you it might not have been you. She said she cannot have anyone new in her daughter's life right now. Pre-teen girls can be fragile, especially after a divorce. It's a hard age and moving into middle school. Those are the hell years. If she was cutting contact to protect/nurture her daughter then I have nothing but respect for her. It's really hard to put your kids needs ahead of your own, but that is what good parents do. So my guess is that it isn't you, it is the situation that the daughter is in.
