Oh here comes the magic. This is the time for all. Flynn just had his sentencing delayed and why, because the judge was going to be tough on him and actually saying the word treason. Now Flynn decided to cooperate more on other investigations. Oh boy what is orange cakes to do?

@Varn Good point. I don't remember any democratic candidate use the term open borders, but rather had that term used to characterize their positions by the other side, but if you could come up with a link, I'd appreciate it. But yeah, if the 2014 bill was successfully amended and passed, this bozo would have had to come up with something else. He probably would still have gotten elected, but that's one issue he wouldn't have had to use.

@Varn The dreamer situation was only addressed by President Obama's executive orders, and never legislatively resolved in any fashion, which is where it should be debated to reach a reasonable compromise. Those orders have been upheld by the courts, but while it didn't hurt Obama, who was well into his second term, politically, I doubt Hillary would have benefitted from the passage of the 2014 bill, with or without protection for the dreamers. However, until that sort of legislative debate occurs, I wouldn't hold my breath for any immigration legislation, including the allocation of 5 billion fucking dollars for a scheme nobody knows any details about.

Based on what I've read, Pence could be equally liable in lying to the FBI about Russian contacts and claiming to not having knowledge of Flynn's dissembling. @EMC2 Oh, I agree with you there. I'd prefer to see him behind bars to avoid the possibility of becoming a martyr. However, if it takes a world War which we lose to get him to off himself, that's not a good option.

@BettyColeman I'm with you there. It would require an amendment to abolish, which is incredibly difficult under normal circumstances to pull through. In the current climate, might be impossible. @BettyColeman Well, it was a leak of a memo. I don't think there is any policy yet, but a leak timed right before the midterms about a group the right vilifies seems a bit like a ploy. Whether it comes to pass, I think that depends on the results of the midterms.

@Freedompath There are plenty of courageous people around, including in government both elected and professional. There are a lots more without courage, without even convictions or even awareness, and more without resources. They've studied this. Movements do not gain momentum until roughly 25 percent of the population sign on to active participation. The problem with this is that the opposition is not monolithic, and many factions undermine the efforts of the others. Single minded action from a committed population with strong, and courageous, leadership can effect all kinds of change. The reactionary forces are indeed single minded, and resort to propaganda and stupidity, both very hard to counter. Should those of us on this side of the fence give up? Of course not, but it is a long slog, and in the meantime the other side consolidates power by tilting the playing field using the reigns of power. The historical Hitler and our current version were both legitimately (or apparently legitimately) elected, and given the ability, changed the rules to remain entrenched while the opposition is scattered. I have no answer.
