Wow...good question. As a demographer...I can tell you a lot of reasons why a growing population actually makes "hooking up" harder. The Pill killed my first wife (super-strong doses in the early 70's - cancer by 74 dead by 77). On line dating gave me at least one decent relationship, and a future with other lovers...but a lot of problems as well. Not fighting you....just enlightening....I do think on line dating is very useful....and the pill came along at a time when the world needed to get a grip on runaway population explosion....but I spent a lot of time and $$ discovering how dishonest folk can be about themselves...
