Way too much focus on a simple problem with, what appears to me, to be a simple solution. There's very little, if any, record of anyone growing their own tobacco, or making their own whiskey or wines, No one is on record for growing and harvesting Opium - even though it's apparently easy to do. The same will be true for pot. Home grown will become just a personal, local hobby. If there's reasonable commercial pricing, consistency, and marketing techniques - it just won't be worth trying to make money with "home grown". Yes, it is a "weed" so it's easy to grow....and more than some are already side-stepping "dealing" with the black market by using home grown....so as long as it stays illegal I can foresee a strong home-grown market. But that will end once the value of commercially marketed cannabis becomes evident. And as a home-grower for personal use...I look forward to the day I can buy commercially packaged and regulated product.

I've hit...guilty....but it's been rare...and I'm still associated with the folks I've lost my temper with....my son'e mother, and my step daughter. ...and being hit was among the major reasons that I'm now alone...it's etched in my mind - the incidents where she smacked the glasses off my face....more than once...hard to believe I tolerated it so long. I've had to explain why I didn't want to go to craft fairs to sell my shell frames. I've given them as gifts, and kept the nicest ones for myself...and that's about it. I don't want a full time project. I found out it's valuable when i visited the "Shell man" and Shell world stores in the Keys; similarly framed mirrors sell for hundreds. I'm just happy knowing whoever received them knows they have a valuable craft-art creation.

It's interesting that you bring up "living close/not so close to siblings". It's been a major issue for me. I moved out of NY (my "home" state) to Florida in '77. My parents weren't too happy - but tolerated it and visited often...and I visited them. I recall driving with a 3 month old to visit my dying dad in 1980. Now I've moved further away from my son...by only one hour (it's now a 2 hour drive) and he's still "hurt" by the move. He rarely visits. Only 2 times since I've moved up here in 2015. He - and she expect me to drive to see them. He now has a grandson, 3, and is doing far better than I did, financially, as a teacher...I think he's well above $100k income. I never saw that. So - to answer the question - I'm looking forward with mixed feelings to visiting them. He insists it's "too much trouble" to travel on weekends, with a 3 year old. That may be so? I do have a great new car...so maybe I shouldn't complain? Feedback welcome.

I started voting in 63...when Ike was still in power. My mom was Republican, dad was a democrat. I listened to Adlai Stevenson (running against Nixon) and chose Nixon. That was the last time I voted Republican. But I hear what you're saying. I think the Republican and Conservative party need a push from more atheist/agnostics. Conservatism has at its' roots a "wait-and-see" attitude. They used to respect science. Good scientists are conservative; they want tests done over and over to confirm results. I keep trying. As a teacher, I know these folks. They were the borderline failing kid in class...who think they knew it all. The Dunning -Kruger effect is real, and strong in America. Keep trying. When you visit other nations and/or do some studying of the political structure of other nations...you see that some are far worse. We're a good example of very sophisticated, very well "lawyered" scamming. Most, if not all of our elected "criminals" are models for millions of Americans on how to legally "get away with it".... Lots of the scams our politicians do are, technically, legal. We need to get better at recognizing the fallacies and flaws in any U.S. house of government.

The sight, smell, and sound of the waves (when I can open the windows) the usual quiet of the residents...the peaceful music....just makes my day. Gotta ask...how does one grow to be "honest" or "dishonest"? I can recall catching my mom and dad in lies. Did they "teach us" that if it helps you save time/money it's OK? I know my brother lies. He's habitual about it. Maybe I am, too. I know I've told "white" lies - or have withheld info that could have changed things. Our president is clearly, obviously proving that lying can make you very successful. This is a real "can of worms"....honestly....
