As a retired teacher I cringe at the confusing comments. I recommend grammarly to anyone who feels posting-challenged. I see now why Twitter works....demanding a short letter count makes folk be concise. Maybe it's an idea to suggest to admin....limiting post lengths?

Having a lot of candidates isn't necessariliy a bad thing. It's no one group or person's fault that a lot of people feel qualified to run. #4. Bernie's done with the third party thing. He knows his only path to possible nomination is in the Dem party. #5. Be patient. Watch the debates; now only a month or so away (late June, 2 days, 10 candidates each. There's a tone of panic in your post. #6. Chill. There must be a united front. We will have that. #7. Buy a dozen of these. Wear them on your hat/visors. Share/give them to anyone who notices them. I'm on my third dozen.

Important highlights of Mr. Lovins speech - such eloquent wording! **SAD and Sorry that the presentation didn't include the graphics he references throughout his speech. The sound is garbled as well** Having said that; I so totally respect Mr. Lovins that I watched the whole speech, and summarized as follows. -What if we could 'make energy do our work wtihout being our "undoing"? -Fire made us human. -Fossil fuels made us modern -Four fifths of our energy comes from burning 4 cubic miles of the swampy remains of primeval swamp goo (each year). -The present fossil fuel-based energy system is inefficient, disconnected, aging, dirty, and insecure. -This optimism is based on no new laws..no new inventions. Get us off oil and coal, and down to 1/3 our natural gas use by 2050....very possible and possibly cheaper. -start by getting cars off oil, because they use half of it (our daily use of FF's). -Cars will be first and most important if we focus on two areas; Electric propulsion and ultralight body materials, focusing on carbon-fiber technologies. -We can and should introduce the "feebate" system of taxing inefficient cars and power plants, and subsidizing EV makers who focus on lighter body weight and yet stronger, more efficient propulsion. -Carbon fiber-helmet harder than titanium, weighs less, and is made in a minute. -biofuels can effectively replace gas and oil; and 2/3 of that can be obtained from our wastes. -We can and are progressing toward greater electrical efficiency to where we will use less to get more done. -Both gasoline and Electricity hit a maximum use in 2007; they've both been going down since. -The key to improving energy efficiency is "integrative Design". -In the Empire state building for example, we proved that we could make all the glass windows let in almost the same amount of light and almost no heat...improving the efficiency of that building two fifths (40%) in 2010. I know my grandparents and even my dad's "grouchy" almost always led to stress and illness for them. Even Red Foxx used to proclaim "it's the big one" when he was stressed....so we finally learned that being grouchy hurts us more than solves any problems. Having said that; let me put my demographer/scientist hat on and give you some theories as to why being "grouchy" is going away. There's a few reasons; #1. The population is growing. The world has tripled in population since I was born in 1945; population density creates profound changes. Search "population Density and Social pathology" and a great book to read on this topic is "Future Shock" by Alvin Toffler. #2. We're getting away from the traditional, #religulous, nuclear family. Our elders used to live with us...that's trending away. Maybe our grand and great grand-parents had good reasons to be gouchy? #3.Up until recently our longevity was increasing; more diseases were being "cured", more focus on diet and exercise, mental well being. etc. gave rise to folks living longer, being kinder (less grouchy ).

A.com allows plenty of pics; so post plenty - of you doing different things, dressed differently. Women want to "identify" with potential partners; so use that to your advantage. In '62 I read an NSF paper titled "Population Density and Social Pathology"...and it changed my life. One of my highest honors was to be selected out of 800+ applicants to get free Room and board and tuition to study the population problem and its' effects on people. (U. of Cinci, '71) What I discovered answered this question, above. John B. Calhoun took dozens of cages in an abandoned old building and raised rats in them. He kept them clean, well fed, well hydrated.... -he just made the walls smaller on certain cages. You can probably guess what he discovered in the more densely populated cages. -more food hoarding (greed). -more hostility. -more bullying. -more child abuse, neglect, cannibalism. -more malformed children -more gang behavior; all males and all female groups, traveling together, performing unprovoked attacks on weakened individuals. -more abnormal sex - males mounting males -females mounting females. -aggressive sex. - group sex. ...And eventually a leveling off, then a decline and population crash in the most crowded cages. This is an unfair comparison. Kids these days want all sorts of artistic tools...crayons, pencils, etc... ...and now that we have the technology, it's only fair to offer our kids a phone. It would have been very helpful to our parents if they could have stayed in touch with us! ...and today.... It helps us stay in touch with them, of course; and a wise parent knows how to set up the phone for restricted use.
