I put a few layers of newspaper over the hole to keep the soil from falling out, and it still drains very effectively. @Allamanda Remember the days when newspaper ink had something in it that acted as fertilizer? long long ago :-)
glennlab replies on Feb 23, 2020:
Almost all US newspapers use soy based ink, with carbon black or bio based pigments in colors due to changes in the EPA regulations in the 80s. I don't know of any that still use petroleum based inks. There was a price flip in the early 90s where soy became cheaper than petro based. The enamel on high gloss magazines is achieved with clay on the paper versus varnish over the ink, cheaper and more enviromentally friendly. Many of the things we " know" about printing changed radically in the 1980s and 90s.
Must be some good reason.

If we did not have a chance to defeat Cornyn here in Texas I would be working for whoever Mitch's opponent is in November. One of my friends is currently polling 2nd in the Democratic primary, so if he gets the nomination, I'll be very active in his campaign. Shameless plug for Royce West.

At the very least, the sight of leftwingers and minorities exercising their Second Amendment rights could spark a sudden interest in gun control .... Meanwhile, it might be fun to see if I can line up a grenade launcher, you know, just for fun.
glennlab replies on Feb 7, 2020:
California's strict gun laws were passed in response to the Black Panthers openly carrying long guns since many were resticted from carrying handguns. If you want to see meaninful gun control, buy a semi auto rifle and give it to a black or hispanic youth (21-35 year olds), the conservatives will have a coronary.

@EllenDale I spent time in the military, I realize that most bullets never hit their target. I hope never to fire at another human again. @Redheadedgammy I think that they have become emboldened by Trump. These are the same people that would key your car back in the 70s and 80s that have been blaming the "others" for the problems in their lives. It can't be that they slept through high school and took that great job that required no skills, then couldn't get promoted.

I don't think anyone knows, it will probably be several weeks before they find all of the problems. It is really easy to find a fall guy and pin everything on it, but the real reason will be buried if they do that. They never tested the app under load or at real speed. They lacked enough trained personnel. They wanted too much too soon. Other than that it was a huge FUBAR.

@Trumpeter That is the most convoluted misstatement I have read in years. That's not how it works. Your premiss is massively flawed and your conclusions are not based on the premiss. Just so you know, during the greatest economic expansion in US histroy, the maximum tax rate was 84%.
