I've been reading all about this and trying to find case law but thus far, I'm not even able to figure out just what the FBI thinks they can do. glennlab replies on Dec 11, 2019:
@Lincoln55 It's more a function of where the first weapons were designed and developed. Sandia and the weapons storage area are on Kirkland AFB. The weapons are hermetically sealed, and a pressure test of the dry nitrogen they are filled withis only required every several years and is basicly inert. Even when the weapons are active, they only require periodic maintenance about every 3-5 years. The altitude is actually a drawback at 5000 feet.

@Lincoln55 That is where the original classified nuclear museum was located as well as Sandia Corp (the nuclear weapons manufacturer) so it was the logical location. They were studied for years because of the speed of impact, failure of most of the safety features in all 4 weapons and were some of the only weapons that survived impacts.

Lest anyone forget, it was Barbara Jordan that led the take down of Nixon with her challenging questioning.

@Summer72 Jordan had been an LBJ protegee, and was a strong black woman with a deep gravelly voice. She was a lawyer before being elected to Congress and used all of her wiles to hammer witnesses.

Quick correction to both your post and the article, Paul Fishher was an inventor, not an investor. He was also an entrepeneur. But the chief hat he wore was inventor with several patents to his name.
It isn’t just about Santa. People hold onto childish beliefs for way too long I think.
kiramea comments on Dec 3, 2019:
I told my children when they first asked me about the existence of Santa. My dad was pissed; said I destroyed their childhood. They still got "Santa" presents well into their teenage years, but they knew who it was from. I know I failed at times, but I did my best never to lie to my children.
glennlab replies on Dec 3, 2019:
Not a failure, children are much smarter than we give the credit for. My son discovered where we hid the Christmas presents at around 5 and had the presence of mind to not tell us until he was in his late teens.

@MichelleGar1 As good a time as any, he has never been in a rush to do anything, but he's already considered one of the top in his field, didn't want to go back to college but got his BS and MS Summa Cum Laude, he generally knows what he wants, but doesn't let on in case he doesn't get it. I suspected last year when they went to Taiwan to visit her extended family during Lunar New year, Part of the joy of being a parent is watching them succeed no matter how big or how small.

@MichelleGar1 You're welcome. My son just told me he is ring shopping and that next Thanksgiving is with both sets of parents, He has always been a planner, so I think it is as much an intro plan as a way not to have to do 2 thanksgivings. This is a kid that invented parents day so that he could take both his mother and i out at one time instead of two dinners.

@WonderWartHog99 Not sure, but I knew if I stated an absolute, some ass would point out my error. Better safe than sorry. In Texas it is basicly catch and release, except on election day where they hold you intil the polls close, while the law makes it a misdemeaner, it is very rarely prosecuted and ienforcement in most counties is relegated to constables and JPs.

glennlab replies on Dec 2, 2019:
I don't know the chemistry of the ink on vinyl, but in the past simply getting a latex paint match was all that was needed to modify signs for the short election period without it being obvious. Normally you did this for prior campaign signs that only needed minor changes.

How can you believe in god and science? Since you do not understand evolution, why would I read a discredited psuedo-science diatribe. Intelligent design is hocum at best and stupid and misleading at worst. Why would you want us to read a religious diatribe that ignores basic science?
glennlab replies on Dec 1, 2019:
@noseenobelieve I would suggest you take your christian ideas back to your church where they might believe them. just suggesting to read an author without a link or even a correct spelling of his name is not scientific and shows the depth of your knowledge of facts versus opinion.
For those interested just read Foresight by Eberline.

@noseenobelieve I did read it, it was garbage. Scienctific discource requires the revealation of all known pertanent facts, not just the ones that support your theory. His cherry picking of the data leads me to believe that his elevator does not go to the top floors.

glennlab replies on Dec 1, 2019:
@TheGreatShadow That is the correct roman numeral versus the accepted use. In old lead type and wooden type, every letter had to be hand placed, so it is an abreviation for 1000 x 1000 since no roman numeral represented 1 million. The AP style book insured that every newspaper and magazine used the standard definitions.

glennlab replies on Dec 1, 2019:
@darthfaja i worked in the news industry for years, there is a HUGE difference as to which section that something is placed in. Even in the day, the only section that was fact checked was the section labeled "News", all other sections were considered informative or opinion. The second section that was close to being fact checked was Sports. You are expected to be a knowledgeable consumer by them putting labels on the sections.
