I used Linux to remove a file then changed the desktop and replaced the file... I replaced the desktop with a screenshot of the actual functioning desktop and nobody could use it until I changed it back...

Actually this withdrawal is far less of a ratfuck than Vietnam or Iraq was and far less of one than Trump tried to make it into. On a brighter note rather than wasting resources there now thanks to ISIS and the civil war they are starting both groups will be happily killing each other off until they either run out of people to kill or the world ends... Most of the equipment has already been removed as I understand it and what is left won't last because of lack of maintenance and parts. Most of the Taliban's supplies are and have been coming from Russia anyway so let Putin waste resources there. Remember it was Bush who got us involved in both Iraq and Afghanistan to begin with because the Saudis bombed the World Trade center. If anyone should have been bombed back to the stone age it was the Saudis which by the way would have prevented many of the problems in the Middle East today....

Since the 1920s' educational institutions have gone to a educational factory paradigm which has failed for the most part to keep pace withy society's needs. We even still have despite the need for children to learn more to be competitive in the job market a "Summer Vacation" which is only useful in an agrarian society to allow the use of child labor on family farms. If this custom was ended and education became more flexible including advancement by subject inst4ead of age group children would be far better prepared to survive and prosper....

Part of the reason for this is that children are by nature curious, rebellious and like to keep secrets from their parents....
