@MerlinZap I have 9 citrus trees in my yard along with an olive tree and 4 banana trees 3 Black berry bushes, 3 grape vines, and a passion fruit vine... Can you top that?... I can go fishing as close as 15 minutes from where I live as well and excuse me but Walmart sucks as a store of any kind but 4 blocks from me is a Stater Bros and 20 minutes away is a Smart and Final Extra store where I shop for food. I don't often shop at big box stores but if I feel the need I can go to the Citrus Plaza 2 miles down the road from where I live or I can shop in the down-town district with the small business locally owned stores... Life here isn't as bad as you think... FYI I have been through Grants Pass several times when I was younger it sounds like it has grown a bit...

If the law against those lies were enforced less people would lie because the penalty is four years in prison and a rather hefty fine... Going in and lying for something silly and ending up a felon would discourage many people wouldn't you agree?... Especially if you were a lawyer and would be disbarred for it. Now think of it from a business POV.... You go in for a regulatory violation and lie in court what happens to you then?... Nearby medical facilities (the main VA hospital is a short bus ride from my home *about 20 minutes*) emergency services are available within 15minutes 24 hours a day, and I can ride the train to LA or San Diego to go to special events or the beach during the summer months or the bus to the ski resorts in the winter. Plus our electric and gas are dependable unlike some states I can mention. In addition to all this my house is 100 years old now and I am updating it slowly but when finished as an electric only home should run at break even or even a yearly refund from the electric company each year... Also crime rates there are similar to here but I am sure police response here is somewhat faster.... and we don't have gun toting draft dodgers calling themselves "proud boys" everywhere you look...

I live in a fairly good one (not the best but lower crime than the national average with pretty good schools and city services, public transportation is good as well). My house payment is going down to 1235.00 a month PITI (going through refi now on my 2 bedroom 1 bath home) my city services (water, sewer, trash, street lights and sweeper) bill averages about $90 a month, Electric and gas is maximum under $250 a month and earthquake insurance is $1,000 a year. I used to live in a trailer park 5 years ago that was rent controlled and with all utilities and trash the highest I paid was around $650 a month. Either way if I was making $15 an hour I could live on that.... At this time I get almost $4,000 a month tax exempt so I could afford a larger house but I don't need it right now and am making improvements to this one to bring up the value.

This is considered "logic" in states like Texas....

I live in Southern CA and my new loan payment is going to be around $1230 a month PITI for a two bedroom one bath home on a 7,000 square foot lot with public transportation right outside my front door... A new hydrogen powered mass transit train station is getting ready to open in a few months about 7 blocks from me that can take me pretty much anywhere in SoCal cheaply. Better schools and far lower crime than Texas along with the safety of not needing enough fire power to fight a small war just to go to the store or out to eat.... Not only that but people in CA pay less in taxes than you do largely because not only is your mortgage interest tax deductible but your state tax is deductible from federal income tax.... Republicans lie to you and you stupidly buy those lies without thinking twice including the ones about why your unregulated power crashed and why so many of you got bills of tens of thousands of dollars during that period.... This months electric bill for me was a little over $130.00 and gas was less than $3 with city services (street lights, trash, water. sewer, street sweeping, etc at less than $200.00 for two months).... Yeah I could buy a larger more expensive home here but righ5t now I don't need it and by fixing this one up at the moment I have about $120,000 in equity . When the market crashes I will have enough to buy a larger home and still sell this one for more than I have in it...
